Hopeless Lingerie x noissue

Hopeless Lingerie, a Melbourne-based lingerie brand, shares all about their noissue packaging picks for their products from display to delivery.

Everybody deserves clothing that caters to their own set of preferences, which include personality, style, and especially size. Similar to lingerie, anyone who wants it deserves to have it seamlessly and beautifully fit them—like a glove on a hand.

Sisters Gabrielle and Dominique Adamidis saw that the lingerie industry lacks accessible, customizable lingerie, so, in 2008, they created Hopeless Lingerie with just their grandmother's sewing machine on one hand and love for fashion on the other. Hopeless specializes in made-to-order lingerie inspired by art history, pulp imagery, and old movies, as is evident in their dark, modern, and romantic-style pieces.

Hopeless uses a made-to-order production model, meaning that their in-house production team creates all of their lingerie pieces, from designing and sewing to preparing and packing for delivery. For their packaging, they use sustainable materials from noissue to ensure that their commitment to sustainability is consistent from product to packaging. Learn more about Hopeless below!

Tell us a bit about your brand!

We are Hopeless Lingerie, an independent slow fashion brand that’s been making lingerie from our own studio since 2008. We are sisters who started the brand after finishing our studies, and saw a gap in the market for inclusive and beautiful underwear.

Over the years, our style has evolved but our core values have always remained the same and manufacturing in house has been the cornerstone of our business. We have been able to grow slowly and steadily with a strong foundation, and it’s given us so much freedom to be creative and experimental.

Tell us about the design for your packaging and how you’re using them?

We changed our logo a few years ago, from a more feminine cursive font to this very strong gothic one we have now. It’s made from letters we found in a 1970s men's magazine, rearranged and scanned in to create something that channeled the spirit of our DIY aesthetic as well as the darker style we have become known for.

The logo is used as a repeat print on our tissue paper, and then as a central print on our stickers and swing tags. We wrap every single piece in this tissue and secure it with a sticker. It perfectly compliments our designs and makes every order feel like a present.

What made noissue a good fit for your packaging?

So many reasons! The most important is the sustainable and eco friendly values held by the company, which is so important to us. From there the ability to easily design and customize, and the lower minimums too.
