How We’re Working on Carbon Neutral Deliveries
How we're working on carbon neutral deliveries, and reducing our carbon emissions through our circular product framework, localized supply chains, and business initiatives.
By noissue — 21 December, 2021
As a collective, we all need to play our part in a world that needs to drastically reduce carbon emissions.
We're pleased to be offsetting carbon from our shipping and exploring further ways we can reduce our footprint like localizing our supply chain, which can reduce carbon by reducing the amount of distance products travel.
Analyzing our carbon footprint 👣
Starting with the basics, our carbon footprint is essentially made up of the amount of c02 emitted to create our products, from the carbon footprint of our raw materials, the manufacturing process to the carbon emitted during transportation and distribution. These emissions are classified as scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions.
This year, the carbon footprint of our shipping will be measured and offset with the help of a carbon measuring and offsetting partner.
We are also localizing our supply chain, which can reduce emissions by reducing the amount of distance products travel. In 2021, we brought on 8 local supply partners and will continue to do so!
All carbon offset projects that noissue supports will be third-party verified to the highest standards, such as Gold Standard or Verified Carbon Standard.
We are working with a leader in socially and environmentally beneficial projects, and with them, we aim to support projects that protect biodiversity and forests, benefit communities, and that create renewable energy or waste to energy initiatives.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the primary source of carbon emissions in the US is from transportation (29 percent of 2019 greenhouse gas emissions). Greenhouse gas emissions from transportation primarily come from burning fossil fuel for our cars, trucks, ships, trains, and planes.

Our Eco-Alliance Community Projects
With our community of Eco-Alliance members, we aim to contribute to projects around the world that reduce carbon emissions, protect biodiversity and forestry, and that benefit communities through clean water, renewable energy, and waste to energy initiatives.
Our current tree-planting initiative will transition to encompass a more diverse range of projects covering four relevant initiatives:
Forestry and Biodiversity
We’ll look for biodiversity and forestry initiatives like forest protection, regenerative agriculture and urban tree planting. We want to support projects that restore or protect natural ecosystems while delivering benefits to biodiversity and communities.
Clean Water
We’ll also look to clean water and clean cooking solutions to empower communities that need access to clean water and cooking, and to cut emissions and ease pressure on forests.
Clean Energy
For clean energy we’ll look for projects that cut emissions by driving the renewables revolution, and that can create new job and training opportunities in low-carbon sectors.
Waste Management
Finally we’ll aim to contribute to initiatives that implement climate-smart waste management practices, cutting planet-warming gases!
We want to ensure we select projects that deliver proven impacts that align with the aims of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development goals. We’ll share more along the way through our Eco-Alliance program, so our community can be involved!
Wrapping It Up
We are continuing to investigate what we can do to lower our carbon footprint. We will continue to share any learnings we glean with you – our community – so we can be better, together.
Keep your eye on The Wrap or our Eco-Alliance page for future carbon and sustainability updates! Let’s work together to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
Wondering what further steps you can take?
